“Igniting passion in the literary arts.”Writers Project Ghana
Literature is a reflection of life through divergent lenses. A medium with which a people can create and re-create identities for themselves. In the past few years, Ghana has seen an upsurge in the number of creatives and literary enthusiasts. The motherland is rapidly becoming the hub for literary arts across the continent!
Pa Gya! is an annual literary arts festival held in the capital city of Ghana – Accra. The three-day festival features engaging activities like poetry performances, reading, story-telling sessions, panel discussions, book launches and literary prize awards.
The festival first started in 2017 by the Writers Project Ghana in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Ghana. After its debut, it has continued to flourish from year to year – staging readers, writers, editors and publishers from all over the globe. Pa Gya! serves as a platform for discussions on the future of African literature, and critical issues on the continent. It is the place where creative minds converge to express their realities and speak their truths through diverse literary genres.
This year, the festival comes off from Friday to Sunday, 15th -17th October at the Goethe-Insitut in Kakramadu, Accra. It promises to be exciting, thought provoking and educative. Visit writersprojectgh for more information.
As the growing hub for African literary arts, Ghana welcomes literary enthusiasts from every part of the world!
