Did you miss the Habitat Fair’s grand edition in October? Are you still planning to buy or build a house before the end of the year? It isn’t too late. You can still attend the City Mall edition of the Habitat Fair in Kumasi from Friday, December 3rd to Sunday, December 5th. This edition is co-organized by Luv FM, Nhyira FM, and DBS Industries.

As of this year, the housing deficit was about 5 million according to the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA). However, per my estimation, the housing deficit is not less than 2 million and somewhere above 4 million.

Prof. Divine Ahadzie

During the launch of the fair, Prof. Divine Ahadzie, a lecturer at the Centre for Settlement Studies (CSS) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, spoke about Ghana’s alarming housing deficit. He stated that the country has a homeless population of around 4 million people. With this alarming number, he urged the government to take decisive action to address the gross housing needs of its citizens.

Because the goal of the fair is to help people buy or build a home, the featured companies will be giving away amazing prizes and attractive discounts to all of their customers in order to help them afford their dream home. DBS Industries, Afriga Ghana, and Dunamis Plast are a few of these companies.
